The Value of NAICU Membership

Membership in NAICU is open to all accredited independent (private) nonprofit colleges and universities, subject to approval by the association's board of directors. NAICU's success grows out of both its extensive membership base and the direct involvement of member presidents in developing, articulating, and implementing public policy positions. Member benefits include:

• Up-to-date information and analysis on the activities of Congress and the Department of Education relating to policies and programs affecting independent higher education through its newsletter, password-protected areas of the Web site, broadcast faxes, information kits, and meetings and conferences.
• Involvement of member presidents, and the opportunity for informal networking, through service on NAICU committees, attendance at the annual meeting, and participation in targeted public awareness programs.
• Effective advocacy within the federal government through NAICU's ability to speak with the consolidated strength of its nearly 1,000 members.
