Round-up: Campuses Continue to be Roiled by Israel-Hamas Violence - Oct. 16
The renewal of violence between Israel and Hamas has roiled many college campuses as different student groups and faculty express their support for one side or the other. Campus presidents, former presidents, prominent alumni, and significant donors have responded to student actions, often adding to the commotion.
As the new wave of activism grows, the Education Department may be readying to release a Trump administration proposal that could force university leaders to referee pro-Palestinian advocacy and discrimination against Jewish people. According to Politico, the regulation “would potentially force college administrators to investigate claims of discrimination against ethnic groups or risk losing federal money, making it harder for them to stay out of debates about campus protests.”
