Mary Baldwin to Become University

Mary Baldwin College will become a university next year, but in a signal of its commitment to single-sex education, the residential program also will be renamed the Mary Baldwin College for Women.  The college’s board of trustees Monday approved the name changes that will take effect Aug. 31, 2016, coinciding with the start of a yearlong celebration of the school’s 175th anniversary.
