‘We Were Small But Strong’: Morthland College Graduates Its First Four-Year Students

To hear Dr. Tim Morthland tell it, getting to this day was nothing short of a miracle.  At the end of its fourth year of offering classes, Morthland College — the fledgling private university that started with seven students in a storefront on West Frankfort’s Main Street in the fall of 2011 — awarded 14 bachelor’s degrees in a ceremony so well attended it had to be moved from MC’s 100-seat auditorium to the First United Methodist Church.
