Hampton University Pushes Career Possibilities in STEM to Attract Students

The low number of minority and female students in fields such as science and technology is a national issue, and Hampton University faculty members have taken it on.  Several recent grants will help HU with extra programs, but Dean of the School of Science Calvin Lowe said they are part of a larger picture. The key is making the fields of STEM — science, technology, engineering and math — fun, and familiarizing students with the career possibilities.
