More Than 1 in 4 College Women Report Sexual Assault by Graduation

More than one in four college women say they are sexually assaulted by graduation, even higher than previous estimates, according to a survey released Monday that is one of the largest of its kind.  The Association of American Universities polled more than 150,000 students at 27 top universities last spring, as part of a national push to determine how common sexual assault is on campuses and combat the problem.  About 19% of the 780,000 students contacted responded to the survey. Researchers cautioned the results could be skewed because students who skipped the survey may have been less likely to report assault.
