Stonehill College Sounds Early Alarm on Higher Ed's Latest Troubles

If Stonehill College is an early indicator, 2015 will go down as a particularly ugly year for higher ed.  The local Roman Catholic school has consistently ranked among the state’s healthiest colleges and universities in terms of enrollment and financial strength, and that standing is unlikely to have changed during the most-recent fiscal year. Rather, it is the private school’s lackluster investment performance that, should it prove consistent at other institutions, is an ominous sign for an industry already reeling from a combination of negative economic trends.
