Are Final Clubs Too Exclusive for Harvard?

Some students describe Harvard's final clubs as nothing more than fun outlets on a campus with few options for unsupervised play. To many students, the clubs remain potent symbols of privilege, anachronistic and out of place on an increasingly diverse campus.  These clashing perceptions have roiled the community over the past year, with the administration falling squarely into the camp that final clubs and all they represent, wittingly or not, do not belong at Harvard. It is a long-held stance that has resulted in periodic action by the university — and counterpunches by the clubs.
