Bellarmine President Joseph McGowan Dead

Bellarmine University President Joseph McGowan died early Tuesday after an illness, a university spokesman confirmed. He was 71.  McGowan became the university's third president in 1990 and is credited with leading the transformation of Bellarmine College to Bellarmine University with the addition and expansion of buildings, athletics programs and more than 30 academic programs.
