Excelsior College President Takes Leave to Focus on Health

Excelsior College President John Ebersole is taking a leave of absence to focus on his health after being diagnosed with a blood disorder in February, the college announced Thursday. Ebersole is undergoing treatment for myelodysplastic syndromes, or MDS, a group of diseases that affects normal blood cell production in the bone marrow. He will take an extended leave beginning June 15. James Baldwin, executive vice president at the college, has been appointed acting president.
