Southeastern University Pursues a Rapid Merger of the Arts, Technology
When he started in 2008, David Sparling worked out of a small office, not far from a six-seat, nine-computer laboratory, with the largest computer at the time being an iMac with about one gigabyte of memory. Today, a state-of-the-art Mac lab has room for 30 students who have access to 28 16-gigabyte computers — the fastest processor currently available. And by fall, students in Southeastern University will have new sound-proofed practice rooms to use to perfect their performances. Over the past three years, SEU, a private Christian liberal arts university founded in 1935, has invested and continues to invest in updating and upgrading its facilities, technology and curriculum for its College of Arts & Media (CAM).
