Ithaca College's New President to Tackle Heated Issues
When current Ithaca College President Tom Rochon announced his resignation more than a year ago, he called for a replacement well-suited to help tackle issues of race and college access with a fresh approach. Following a search that began last March, the Ithaca College Board of Trustees on Wednesday introduced Shirley M. Collado as the ninth president in the university’s history. Collado, who currently serves as executive vice chancellor and chief operating officer at Rutgers University–Newark, was unanimously approved by the search committee and starts her new position July 1.
