Barton’s Student Disciplinary Rules Need an Overhaul - Editorial

The Wilson Times Editorial Board writes: Barton College didn’t create the problem of campus kangaroo courts, but if its trustees are bold visionaries — leaders rather than followers — our community’s premier institution of higher learning can be part of the solution.  Hundreds of American colleges and universities convene student disciplinary panels that use shaky evidentiary standards and reach faulty conclusions far too often, stacking the deck against accused students and undermining the trust of those aggrieved.
