Rushing Named New Appalachian College Association President

The Appalachian College Association’s new president is a veteran of leading institutions changing their focus, the consortium of 35 schools recently announced. Dr. Beth Rushing is a graduate of an ACA member institution and started her career as a sociologist studying Appalachia. On Sept. 1, she comes full circle, leading the ACA as it changes its strategic focus: pursuing a new strategic plan that furthers the ability of 35 member institutions to serve the Appalachian communities of which they are a part.
