St. Thomas College Lets Underserved Students Pay What They Can Afford

Kelly Saybe and Xavier Abdullahi sat front and center in class on a Wednesday in October. They’re thrilled to be at the University of St. Thomas. Today, along with 105 other students, they’re getting an education through DFC, Dougherty Family College, at the University of St. Thomas. It serves students who couldn’t afford college or lacked the support needed to succeed in school. The college is designed to provide a two year associate degree and prepare students to complete their junior and senior years and earn a four-year degree.
