Reed College Says President John Kroger Will Step Down
Reed College (OR) President John Kroger will leave his post at the end of June after six years running one of the nation's most prestigious liberal arts colleges, the school said late Friday. A former U.S. Marine, federal prosecutor and Oregon attorney general, Kroger leaves after a contentious year on the famously liberal, activist campus. But Roger Perlmutter, chairman of Reed's board of trustees, said Kroger's tenure achieved the goals the Southeast Portland college set out for him back in 2012.
