UIW Inaugurates Thomas Evans as 10th President

Thomas Evans announced ambitious new plans for the University of the Incarnate Word (TX) on Thursday as he was officially inaugurated as the school’s 10th president.  During his inauguration speech, Evans pledged to double the private university’s endowment over the next decade and announced the endowment of a new scholarship for high-performing, low-income students. The scholarship, made possible by a $1 million donation by Carlos Alvarez, marks the largest endowed scholarship commitment in the university’s history.
