Endicott's Wylie Remembered as Visionary

The man credited with the rebirth of Endicott College (MA), President Richard “Doc” Wylie, died Sunday.  As the college’s fifth president, Wylie spearheaded the transition from a two-year school for women with declining enrollment to a co-educational institution offering undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees to roughly 5,000 students. Endicott also has a campus in Gloucester, at 33 Commercial St., where it has teaching and learning space for undergraduate and graduate courses, as well as in corporate education, workforce development, and community activities.  Wylie, 77, died of natural causes Sunday, according to Bryan Cain, Endicott’s vice president of communications and marketing.
