For First-Gen Students, Stepping on Santa Clara University Campus Is a Start

Carlos Hernandez hasn’t started high school yet, but he’s already thinking about what’s next. And on Wednesday, as he strolled through Santa Clara University’s leafy campus on a field trip with his future East Palo Alto Academy classmates, the precocious incoming high school freshman had more than a few questions for the college tour guides.
