City Seeds College Lake to Establish Wetlands

College Lake, which spilled over the dam in the Aug. 2 flood, displacing more than 100 residents, now is mostly mud. The city of Lynchburg has been working with the University of Lynchburg, formerly Lynchburg College, to develop a restoration plan. Both have a stake in the process; the university owns the lake and the city owns the dam and road that runs over it.
