Emory University Commits $40 Million in Increased Financial Support for Doctoral Students

Emory University (GA) announced Tuesday afternoon a plan that it hopes will help doctoral students in its Laney Graduate School.  The base stipend for all students in that school will increase from $24,000 to $31,000 starting in fall 2019 for that academic year, officials said. The stipends help those students with teaching and research they do as they pursue their degrees. Many doctoral students work as teaching assistants.
