Quinnipiac Students, Alums Should Rally Behind Partnership With Community Colleges, Not Disparage It - Opinion
Murphy Siegel, a public relations professional from Boston and Quinnipiac alum, writes: With President Judy Olian’s announcement that Quinnipiac — which receives a low diversity index ranking from U.S. News and World Report — is partnering with Gateway Community College and Housatonic Community College to allow graduates to seamlessly transfer to Quinnipiac, I expected to see almost universal praise. My alma mater was joining the ranks of George Mason University, Arizona State University, Virginia Commonwealth University, Drexel University and other four-year institutions that had adopted similar agreements to great success. Instead, I was disheartened by some of the sentiments expressed by alumni and students alike.
