Seattle University President to Retire

Seattle University President Father Stephen Sundborg announced Thursday he will retire in June 2021.  
The university’s board of trustees launched a presidential search committee and intends to find Sundborg’s replacement by November so the two can work together leading up to Sundborg’s retirement. When he retires, Sundborg will have been university president for 24 years, making him the longest-serving college president in Washington state and the second longest-serving president of a Jesuit institution, according to a news release. Enrollment grew 78% to nearly 7,200 students during his tenure.
