Siena College Names New President

Siena College (NY) has named former U.S. Rep. Chris Gibson as president, filling the position left by Br. Edward Coughlin, who died last year at age 71. Gibson, an alumnus of Siena, will be the first non-friar to head the college. The former three-term Republican congressman from Kinderhook previously announced he would join the Siena faculty as a professor in September to teach political science and history. He'll start as Siena president on July 1.
