Lawrence University Announces Laurie Carter as Its Next President, Replacing Mark Burstein

Lawrence University's (WI) 17th president will be Laurie Carter, the first person of color to lead the liberal arts college in its 174-year history. Carter, who's president of Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania, will replace current President Mark Burstein on July 1. Burstein announced last fall he would be leaving his post at the end of the academic year after eight years at Lawrence.
