Student Loan Forgiveness Misses The Underlying Problem - Commentary

Carl Moses, provost and vice president for academic affairs at Grand View University (IA), writes:  The student-loan forgiveness announced by the Biden administration has been characterized as unfair to those who already repaid their loans and as an unfair redistribution of wealth. Neither is a sound criticism, but more importantly, the forgiveness program fails to address the real problem of student debt. Let’s remember who borrows for post-secondary education.
