University of Lynchburg Announces Layoffs Due to Budget Deficit

The University of Lynchburg (VA) is shrinking its workforce to deal with a budget deficit. The school said this has been months in the making as they reimagine the university with the goal of being more efficient in spending.
Michael Jones is the VP of Communications for U of L and said the goal is for the university to balance its budget. "As a result of that, we will be eliminating four non-tenure-tracked faculty positions for the next academic year," Jones explained. Jones said the elimination of those positions won't happen until the fall of 2023.
