Maryland College Makes Tuition Free for Some Students

A storied Annapolis liberal arts college will become tuition-free for many students after a historic fundraising campaign. St. John’s College will cover the cost of an education for incoming students from families that earn $75,000 a year or less, the school announced Tuesday. The push toward affordability offers a way for St. John’s to grow as students increasingly turn away from small, high-priced liberal arts colleges. The move comes just a year after the college completed a historic $326 million capital campaign.
