Alverno College No Longer in Financial Distress, Accreditor Says

Alverno College (WI) is no longer deemed by its accreditor to be in “financial distress.”  The Board of Trustees of the private, Catholic college on Milwaukee's south side in June voted to declare financial exigency. The Higher Learning Commission has now removed Alverno's “financial distress” designation, according to a Wednesday press release from the school. This comes after the HLC conducted an advisory visit in November to determine whether the college had “the faculty and staff needed for effective, high-quality programs and student services.”
