SLU Names New President

Saint Louis University on Monday named a successor for current President Fred Pestello, who announced in March that he plans to step down next year after more than 10 years leading the university. The private, Jesuit university said it has appointed Edward Feser, currently provost and executive vice president of Oregon State University, as its 34th president, effective July 1, 2025. Feser, 57, has been provost at OSU, where he's also a professor in the School of Public Policy, since 2017. He earned doctorate and master's degrees in city and regional planning from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a bachelor's degree in government from University of San Francisco, which also is a Jesuit school.
