HED Request for Applications - South Sudan Program

Higher Education for Development (HED), in cooperation with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is issuing a request for applications for the South Sudan Higher Education Initiative for Equity and Leadership Development (SSHIELD) Program under the global Women’s Leadership Program.

HED expects to make one award of up to $ 4,275,000, for two and a half years for a higher education partnership in South Sudan among one or more U.S. higher education institutions, the University of Juba, the Upper Nile University, and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology. The purpose of the partnership will be to support South Sudanese national and local development goals that promote gender equality and female empowerment within the education sector.

HED was established through an agreement with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the six college presidential associations, including NAICU.
