Robert King Appointed to Higher Ed Post
After 19 months in office, President Trump announced the appointment of Robert L. King to Assistant Secretary for Postsecondary Education at the U. S. Department of Education.
King comes to this position with a diverse background in government and higher education. He currently is President of the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education and previously served as Chancellor of the State University of New York System. King’s government experience includes serving as a District Attorney in California and New York, being elected to the New York State Legislature, and serving as Budget Director and Director of the Office of Regulatory Reform under New York Governor George Pataki (R).
King will need Senate confirmation before taking the position.
