NAICU Launches Your Vote, Your Voice Campaign with a Webinar

NAICU is launching its 2020 Your Vote, Your Voice, National Campus Voter Registration Project with the webinar Voter Registration & Civic Engagement 2020 on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. EDT.

NAICU President Barbara K. Mistick will lead a conversation focused on voter registration, voter education and get-out-the vote activities ahead of the November general election. NAICU is co-hosting this event with Kevin Kruger, president and CEO of NASPA Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education.

Voter education and registration activities historically have been important undertakings of the nation’s colleges and universities. Since the reauthorization the Higher Education Act in 1998, postsecondary institutions have been required to make a good-faith effort to distribute voter registration forms to students prior to the registration deadlines for presidential and gubernatorial elections.

Member presidents, student affairs professionals, and student leaders are invited to learn about the resources on the Your Vote, Your Voice webpage, and best practices for campus-based civic engagement and voter registration activities in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, many doing so in a virtual environment.
