Call for Nominations for the NAICU Board of Directors
NAICU has issued a call for nominations for eight directly-elected seats on its Board of Directors for terms running from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2024.
The Board is composed of 47 members, 24 of whom are directly-elected by the membership from NAICU’s eight regions and 12 at-large members. In addition, the Board is comprised of the past NAICU Board chair, two members of the NAICU Secretariat, three members of the National Association of Independent College and University State Executives (NAICUSE), three government relations representatives from member institutions, and the NAICU president.
Board members play an integral role in setting the association’s policy mission focused around issues affecting student aid, tax policy, and government regulation. In these unprecedented times, it is critical for the composition of the Board to represent the broad regional and institutional diversity of the independent higher education sector.
To nominate an individual to the Board, NAICU members can submit the name of a member president from their state for consideration. Additionally, if interested, NAICU members can also self-nominate and have their name considered for the Board. A Board member whose term is expiring (Class of 2021) is not eligible for election this year (list of current NAICU Board members).
Nominations are currently being sought from the following regions:
