More colleges to participate in Second Chance Pell

Education Secretary Betsy DeVos announced that a new cohort of 67 institutions will participate in the Second Chance Pell program. This program allows colleges to work with correctional systems to provide higher education for incarcerated individuals and for those individuals to receive federal Pell Grants to cover tuition for the courses.

Fifteen of the 67 institutions included in the new cohort are private, nonprofit colleges, 14 of which are NAICU members.

There are an additional 11 private, nonprofit colleges already participating since the first round of experimental sites in 2015, which include seven NAICU members.
