Representatives Send Bipartisan Letter to Leadership Supporting Higher Ed Funding
Stating that “American colleges and universities are facing unprecedented challenges as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic,” U.S. Representatives Daniel Lipinski (D-IL) and Susan Brooks (R-IN) delivered a bipartisan letter to the House Leadership requesting support of $47 billion in higher education funding to respond to the coronavirus emergency. The letter, signed by 100 representatives, also states that colleges and universities will be “essential to a strong recovery,” and that this level of funding is needed to ensure “that as we emerge from our current health crisis, our lower- and middle-income students will not be left behind.”
