New Grants Available for NASNTI Programs
The Department of Education is inviting eligible colleges and universities to apply for funding in the Native American-Serving, Nontribal Institutions (NASNTI) program. This program is found in Title III, Part F, of the Higher Education Act and allows institutions to plan, develop, undertake, and carry out activities to improve and expand the capacity to serve the Native Americans on their campuses. The Department is making $4.7 million available in total funds to provide grants to eligible institutions.
Discretionary grants will be awarded for five-year Individual Development Grants and Cooperative Arrangement Development Grants with a maximum grant amount of $450,000 for Individual Development Grants and $500,000 for Cooperative Arrangement Grants.
The application has one competitive preference priority and one invitational priority:
- Competitive Preference Priority: Building Capacity for Remote Learning (up to 5 points).
- Invitational Priority: Addressing the Impact of COVID–19 on Students’ Mental Health and Academic Outcomes.
Applications are due July 12, 2021.
