Cordray Picked to Lead Federal Student Aid Programs
The Department of Education announced that Richard Cordray has been named Chief Operating Officer of Federal Student Aid. In this role, Cordray will lead the office of Federal Student Aid. The office of Federal Student Aid manages all student aid programs, including all federal student loans, the Pell Grant program, and campus-based aid programs.
Cordray was nominated by President Obama as the first director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau where he served for six years, and is the former Attorney General of Ohio.
