Grant Awards Available for the NASNTI Program
Eligible institutions of higher education were notified of the availability of grants through the Native American-Serving, Nontribal Institutions (NASNTI) program, which provides funds to help plan, develop, undertake, and carry out activities to enable colleges and universities to improve and expand their capacity to serve Native Americans and low-income individuals.
The maximum grant amount is $600,000 and grants are for 5 years. Applications are due June 12, 2023.
In order to receive this funding, an institution must be designated as an eligible institution by receiving approval from the Department of Education to participate in the NASNTI program. Once designated by the Department, an institution can apply for the grant program.
In approving an application under this program, the notice contains two competitive preference priorities and one invitational priority:

- Competitive Preference Priority 2: Increasing postsecondary education access, affordability, completion, and post-enrollment success; and
