FVT and GE Deadlines Pushed to January 2025

The Financial Value Transparency (FVT) and Gainful Employment (GE) reporting deadlines have been delayed for a second time.  The Department of Education announced that institutions now have until January 15, 2025 to submit the required data.

This delay follows the Department’s recent pause on institutions’ use of the critical completers lists and FVT/GE reporting forms due to problems identified by the higher education community.

On August 30, the Department issued a vague update on its website indicating that problems identified by the higher education community could cause a delay.  On September 10, a bipartisan group of 20 Senators sent a letter to Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona asking for a delay in the FVT/GE reporting deadline until July 2025 – the same date that NAICU has been pushing for the better part of a year.

In addition to the later reporting deadline, the Department is establishing a method for institutions that wish to report their FVT/GE data earlier than the deadline. NAICU will share more details on this reporting method and updates to the solutions the Department puts forth for the problems with completers lists and FVT/GE report forms once they are made available.
